Solution:

We have,

[tex]24+12=\_\_\times (8+4)[/tex]           ...(i)

Taking left hand side, we get

[tex]24+12=3\times 8+3\times 4[/tex]

Taking 3 common, we get

[tex]24+12=3\times (8+4)[/tex]             ...(ii)

On comparing (i) and (ii), we get

Missing value = 3

Therefore, the missing value in the given equation is 3.
