The solution to f(x) = g(x) is x = -1

Solution:

Given that,

f(x) = - 2x + 2

g(x) = 4x + 8

Solve the equation f(x) = g(x)

-2x + 2 = 4x + 8

Combine the like terms

Keep the variable "x" terms in one side and move constants to other side

4x + 2x = 2 - 8

6x = -6

Divide both sides by 6

x = -1

Thus solution to f(x) = g(x) is x = -1
