Athena instructed Perseus to find the Hesperides, who were entrusted with weapons needed to defeat Medusa. Therefore, he sought out to find the Graeae, the sisters of Gorgons who led him to Hesperides. From Hesperides, he caught hold of a knapsack to keep Medusa's head in.
